Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Sona - the service that lets you create and operate a personal digital twin ("Service"), provided by Sona Technologies, Inc. ("Sona", "we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to these Terms.

1. What Sona is (and is not)

Sona lets you build a private AI model of yourself - your style, memory and voice - that can converse, draft, advise and, within limits you set, act on your behalf. Your twin is an AI model of your personality. It is not a person, not a consciousness, and not a substitute for one. It can make mistakes. All twin output is labeled and cryptographically signed as AI-generated.

The Service is currently in early access: features may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued as we develop the product.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old. You are responsible for your account credentials and for all activity under your account. One person - one identity: accounts must be created under your real identity, because a twin is a model of a real person.

3. The one big rule: consent first

  • You may only create a twin of yourself. Creating or attempting to create a twin of another person - living or deceased, real or implied - without our explicit written authorization and that person's verifiable consent is prohibited and grounds for immediate termination.
  • Inviting another adult (for example, a family member) to create their own twin is welcome - the twin is theirs, under their control, on their consent.
  • Using Sona to impersonate a real person, deceive others about whether they are talking to a human, or produce deepfake content is prohibited.

4. Your content and your twin

  • You own your content and your twin. Everything you provide (interview answers, imports, voice, photos) and everything that constitutes your twin remains yours.
  • You grant us a limited license to host and process your content solely to operate and improve the Service for you. We do not use your personal content to train shared or general-purpose models.
  • You can export or permanently delete your twin at any time (see Privacy Policy).
  • You are responsible for having the necessary rights to the content you import (for example, conversations that include other people).

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to: break the law; harass, defraud or impersonate others; generate or spread deepfakes; infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights of others; attempt to extract our models, prompts or another user's data; probe or breach our security; or resell the Service without authorization.

When your twin acts on your behalf (drafts, replies, attends meetings), you remain responsible for reviewing and for the consequences of actions you authorize. Sona provides logging of twin actions to make this control practical.

6. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans (Plus, Family, Legacy and others) are billed in advance on a recurring basis and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time, effective at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable. Prices may change with 30 days' notice. A meaningful free tier will always exist.

7. No professional advice

Your twin's outputs - including advice on decisions, health, finances or legal matters - are AI-generated information, not professional advice. For medical, legal, financial or psychological matters, consult a qualified professional.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including software, models, design and branding, is owned by Sona and its licensors. These Terms grant you no rights in the Sona name, technology or trademarks beyond use of the Service.

9. Termination

You may stop using Sona and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where practicable. Upon termination you retain the right to export your data for 30 days, after which it is deleted.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" during early access. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of fitness and non-interruption, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Wilmington, Delaware, unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.

12. Changes and contact
